Present Continuous tense ( ঘটমান বর্তমান )
বর্তমানে কোন কাজ হচ্ছে বা চলছে, মানে কাজটি এখনি হচ্ছে এবং নিকট ভব্যিসতে চলবে এরূপ বোঝালে Present Continuous tense হয়। যেমন ঃ আমি এখন ভাত খাচ্ছি।
বাংলায় চেনার উপায়ঃ
বাংলায় ক্রিয়া বা verb – এর শেষে ছি, ছে, ছ,ছেন, চ্ছ, চ্ছি, চ্ছে, ইত্যাদি থাকে।
1.Rules of Positive sentence: Present Continuous tense এর হ্যাঁ- বাচক বাক্য লেখার নিয়মাবলী হল –
Subject + am/is/ are + verb+ing +object
Note- I এর পর am বসে। He,She,It এবং অন্যসব Third Person Singular Number এর পর is বসবে। We,You,They, এবং Plural subject এর শেষে are বসে।
Example:
কুকুরটি ডাকছে -The dog is barking.
আমি পড়তে যাচ্ছি -I am going for tuition.
তোমরা বই পড়ছ -You are reading books.
সে স্কুলে যাচ্ছে – He is going to school.
2.Rules of Negative sentence: Present Continuous tense এর না- বাচক বাক্য লেখার নিয়মাবলী হল –
Subject + am/is/ are + not + verb+ing +object
Example:
বৃষ্টি পরছে না -It is not raining
তিনি আজ আসছেন না – He is not coming today.
আমি বাজার যাচ্ছি না – I am not going to market.
তুমি গান গাইছ না – You are not singing.
3.Positive Interrogative Sentence : Present Continuous tense এর হ্যাঁ- বাচক প্রশ্ন লেখার নিয়মাবলী হল –
am/is/ are + Subject + verb+ing +object
Example:
তুমি কি স্নান করছ ? – Are you bathing ?
তিনি কি ঘুমাচ্ছেন ? – Is he sleeping ?
ছেলেরা কি মাঠে ফুটবল খেলচ্ছে ? – Are the boys playing football in the field ?
আমি কি ভুল করছি ? – Am I doing wrong ?
4.Negative Interrogative Sentence : Present Continuous tense এর না – বাচক প্রশ্ন লেখার নিয়মাবলী হল –
am/is/ are+ not + Subject + verb+ing +object
Example:
রবি কি পড়াশুনা করছে না ? – Is not(Isn’t) Rabi studying ?
তারা কি আজ চিড়িয়াখানায় যাবেন না ? – Are not(Aren’t) they going to zoo today?
আমি কি তোমায় সাহায্য করছি না ? – Am I not helping you ?
তোমরা কি মাছ ধরছ না ? – Are not(aren’t) you catching fish ?
5.Wh-word Positive Interrogative Sentence : Present Continuous tense এর হ্যাঁ- বাচক Wh-word এর অর্থাৎ What( কি ), Where ( কোথায় ),Why ( কেন),When (কখন),Which ( কোনটি ),How (কিভাবে) দিয়ে প্রশ্ন লেখার নিয়মাবলী হল –
Wh-word +am/is/ are + Subject + verb+ing +object
Example:
তোমরা কোথায় যাচ্ছ ? -Where are you going ?
সুমন কখন আসছে ? – When is Suman coming?
তুমি কোন গল্পের বই পড়ছ ? – Which story book is you reading?
আমি কেন এত কষ্ট পাচ্ছি ? -Why am I suffering so much ?
6.Wh-word Negative Interrogative Sentence : Present Continuous tense এর না- বাচক Wh-word এর অর্থাৎ What( কি ), Where ( কোথায় ),Why ( কেন),When (কখন),Which ( কোনটি ),How (কিভাবে) দিয়ে প্রশ্ন লেখার নিয়মাবলী হল –
Wh-word +am/is/ are +not+ Subject + verb+ing +object
Example:
সে কেন আসছে না ? -Why is not(isn’t) she coming ?
দিপা কোথায় ঘুরতে যাচ্ছে না ? Where is not(isn’t) Dipa Travelling?
তুমি কেন বই পরছ না ? – Why are not(aren’t) you reading books ?
